Designing for community, inclusion, and impact through print and digital media.

As part of the design team for the IDEA Engineering Student Center, I created visual materials that celebrated diversity, supported outreach, and strengthened student belonging. I designed two annual reports and contributed to a wide range of event collateral. Through these projects, I developed a strong command of layout design, visual storytelling, and accessible communication aligning with both UC San Diego’s and the Student Center's brand.

ANNUAL REPORTS

I led the design and production of the IDEA Engineering Student Center’s annual report: an in-depth, 50-60 page publication highlighting the center’s mission, milestones, and student impact.

Working in Adobe InDesign, I developed consistent layouts for feature stories, infographics, and photo spreads, while carefully retouching and editing images in Photoshop to maintain a polished, print-ready look. Each report adhered to UC San Diego’s broader brand standards while integrating the IDEA Center’s vibrant, student-centered color palette.

These projects deepened my experience in long-form editorial design, brand alignment, and the ability to convey institutional values through clean, accessible visual storytelling.

Each annual report captured the center’s evolving impact and initiatives. From layout consistency to typographic hierarchy, I refined my visual communication skills while collaborating with program staff and directors to ensure data and narratives were equally represented.

EVENT & MISCELLANEOUS GRAPHICS

In addition to long-form editorial work, I created visual assets for a wide variety of student-centered events, programs, and initiatives hosted by the IDEA Center. From flyers and social media graphics to digital signage, my designs were tailored to appeal to college students while remaining aligned with the center’s values of inclusivity, empowerment, and academic excellence.

A key part of this work was identifying and highlighting the most important event information—balancing visual appeal with clarity and hierarchy. I learned to work efficiently within brand guidelines while keeping every design fresh, eye-catching, and relevant to our student audience.
